Cryogenic Detection of Particles, Development Effort in the United States

  • Conference paper
Low Temperature Detectors for Neutrinos and Dark Matter

Abstract

We review the development of cryogenic detectors of particles in the USA, with emphasis on large mass devices. Most groups are still tooling up and exploring basic properties of sensors. We summarize the main discussion themes and describe some of the early experimental results.
