Zusammenfassung
Die beiden wichtigsten Gesichtspunkte bei der Suche nach sogenannten peripheren Markern bei endogenen Psychosen ist zum einen der Wunsch, durch Bestimmung von Labormeßwerten Hilfen für die Diagnosefindung und möglicherweise auch für Deutungen pathogenetischer Prozesse in die Hand zu bekommen, und andererseits, Prädiktoren für den Therapieerfolg zu etablieren. Ein bedeutender Fortschritt schien die Beobachtung zu sein, daß unipolar depressive Patienten eine verminderte Zahl an Imipraminrezeptoren auf Thrombozyten während der Erkrankungsphase hatten im Vergleich zu gesunden Kontrollen (Asarch et al. 1980). Diese Beobachtung löste eine Fülle von Untersuchungen aus, die zu höchst widersprüchlichen Ergebnissen führten.
