Abstract

With the rapid introduction of information technologies into all sectors of industrialised societies, many people have argued that the ability to understand and use such devices has become a necessary part of general education. The term “computer literacy” has been coined to refer to this ability. This chapter deals with cognitive characteristics and implications of computer literacy.
