Retinoide und Immunologie Physiologische und pharmakologische Wirkungen natürlicher und synthetischer Retinoide auf die Immunantwort

Zusammenfassung

Natürliche und synthetische Retinoide greifen an zahlreichen Punkten in das Immunsystem ein: Die humorale und celluläre Immunantwort kann durch Retinoide verändert werden, die Interferonsynthese wird durch Retinoide beeinflußt, Granulocyten und Entzündungsmediatoren werden durch Retinoide moduliert. Die vielfältigen Angriffsmöglichkeiten der Retinoide im Immunsystem erschweren die Übertragung experimentell gewonnener Daten auf eine Therapie immunologisch bedingter Dermatosen. Allerdings können bereits heute bestimmte entzündliche Krankheitsbilder erfolgreich mit Retinoiden behandelt werden.

Unser Wissen über die Beeinflussung immunologischer Vorgänge durch Retmoide ist noch fragmentarisch und inkomplett. Die vorliegende Arbeit soll deshalb einen Überblick über die physiologischen und pharmakologischen Wirkungen natürlicher und synthetischer Retinoide auf die Immunantwort zum gegenwärtigen Zeitpunkt geben.

Summary

Natural and synthetic retinoids have marked effects on the immune system: retinoids change humoral and cell-mediated immunity, retinoic acid inhibits production of interferon, retinoids modulate polymor- phonuclear granulocytes and mediators of inflammation. The multiple retinoid actions on the immune system render more difficult to transfer experimental data to therapy of immunological dermatoses. But the use of retinoids in the treatment of a variety of skin disorders in which inflammation is a significant component is now successfull.

Our knowledge about immunological effects of retinoids is still quite fragmentary and rather incomplete. An overview of physiological and pharmacological mechanisms of natural and synthetic retinoids on the immune system is given in the present article.
