Abstract

The Golgi apparatus is a main stage in the intracellular routes of a series of molecules taken up by endocytosis and in the recycling pathways of plasma membrane constituents, glycoproteins as well as lipids (for review and further literature, see Brown et al. 1983; Farquhar 1982, 1983, 1985; Geisow 1982; Herzog 1983, 1984; Morré et al. 1984a; Pastan and Willingham 1985; Schwarz and Thilo 1983; Sleigh and Pagano 1984; Steinman et al. 1983; Stenseth and Thyberg 1986; Widnell et al. 1982).
