Zusammenfassung
Die Möglichkeiten des Cochlear Implants rückt für den operativ tätigen Otologen erstmalig die Cochlea in ihrer topographischen Beziehung zu Nachbarstrukturen in den Mittelpunkt des Interesses. Die Kenntnis der räumlichen Lage der Cochlea und ihrer Scalae ist für eine sichere, schonende Applikation eines intrakochleären Implantates notwendig, um unnötige, operationsbedingte Verletzungen endocochleärer Strukturen sowie Schäden an den Elektroden zu vermeiden. Im folgenden soll anhand eigener Felsenbeinstudien sowie ausgewählter Röntgenbilder und Schemazeichnungen die Topik der Cochlea im Felsenbein dargestellt werden, soweit sie für otochirurgische Fragestellungen relevant ist.
