Zusammenfassung
Der Wunsch, die therapeutischen Möglichkeiten vor allem für den niedergelassenen Dermatologen und Allgemeinmediziner zu verbessern, lenkte die Aufmerksamkeit zunehmend auf das Problem der Patientencompliance. Es schien deshalb vorteilhaft, die Anzahl der notwendigen Applikationen pro Tag zu verringern und die Behandlungsdauer zu verkürzen.
Bifonazol zeigte in einer Vielzahl von vorwiegend unizentrischen klinischen Studien, daß es beide Anforderungen an ein modernes Antimykotikum erfüllen konnte.
Ziel dieser multizentrischen Studie war es, die Qualitäten von Bifonazol, insbesondere die Möglichkeit einer Therapieverkürzung bei gleich guter Wirksamkeit sowie die Einmalapplikation/ Tag an einem großen Patientenkollektiv unter Praxisbedingungen zu prüfen.
Im Rahmen der Studie wurden über 6000 Patienten mit Bifonazol behandelt. Bei ca. 90% der Patienten konnte eine mykologische Sanierung und klinische Heilung bei gleichzeitiger guter Verträglichkeit erzielt werden. Die Empfehlungen zur verkürzten Therapiedauer, je nach Indikation 2, 3 oder 4 Wochen, wurden voll bestätigt.
Bifonazol erwies sich als ein Präparat, das aufgrund seiner Eigenschaften zur Verbesserung der Patientencompliance beitragen kann.
