Zusammenfassung
Die Lunge ist in der Weise in den Gesamtkreislauf einbezogen, daß ihre Durchblutung dem Herzzeitvolumen nahezu entspricht. Das gemischt-venöse Blut des gesamten Körperkreislaufs sammelt sich im rechten Vorhof. Von dort strömt es in den rechten Ventrikel, der es durch die Lungenarterien ins Lungenkapillarsystem pumpt. Hier werden die Hämoglobinmoleküle mit Sauerstoff gesättigt und Kohlendioxyd wird ausgeschieden. Über die Lungenvenen fließt das arterialisierte Blut in den linken Vorhof, der als Reservoir des linken Ventrikels dient.
