Abstract
The brain of salamanders, like that of all vertebrates, is divided into five major parts: (1) forebrain, or telencephalon; (2) diencephalon; (3) midbrain, or mesencephalon; (4) cerebellum; (5) hindbrain, or medulla oblongata (Fig. 4.1).
