Since 1873, dyshidrosis has been considered a palmoplantar dermatosis, characterized by itchy vesicles arising mainly on the contiguous borders of the fingers. At present, the etiology of this disorder is not clearly defined. Causes which have been considered include infections, allergic reactions and hyperhidrosis.
