Abstract

The history of rehabilitation of chronic schizophrenics, the residents of the mental hospitals at that time, is closely associated with the introduction of the antipsychotic drugs in the early 1950s. For the administrative bodies, these drugs were a panacea, starting the community health centre movement. However, this outpatient organization did not work for schizophrenics. Even worse was the closing of the mental hospitals behind the back of the schizophrenic residents.
