Zusammenfassung
Orale Kontrazeptiva (OK) wurden vor etwa 3 Jahrzehnten in den Handel gebracht. Sie zählen nicht nur zu den am häufigsten verwendeten, sondern auch zu den am meisten untersuchten und überwachten Arzneimitteln. Angesichts dieser Tatsache wird sich vielleicht mancher fragen, warum es nach 30 Jahren noch immer nötig ist, über unbeabsichtigte Begleitwirkungen der OK zu sprechen, und wieso es bisher offenbar nicht möglich gewesen ist, nebenwirkungsfreie Präparate zu entwickeln. Die Antworten darauf sind relativ einfach.
