Der Unterschenkelverband nach Sarmiento ist zur frühzeitigen Mobilisierung von Patienten mit Unterschenkelfrakturen geeignet. Nach Angabe von Sarmiento lassen sich fast alle Typen der Unterschenkelfraktur mit diesem Verband behandeln.
