Auf jeder Ebene des hypothalamo-hypophysär-ovariellen Regelkreises und zusätzlich durch ektope Hormonproduktion und exogene Zufuhr von Hormonen können Störungen auftreten, die über die gemeinsame Endstrecke der Östrogenen Steroide eine vorzeitige Geschlechtsreife verursachen.
