EEG Dynamic Cartography of Wakefulness, Sleep and Dreams: A Movie

Topographic Brain Mapping of EEG and Evoked Potentials

Abstract

The time-course variability of spontaneous EEG activity over the scalp is particularly well displayed in the form of a movie showing the rapid topographic waxing and waning of electrical power. However, two problems arise. First, it is difficult to conduct a real-time experiment which involves spectral protocols for recording EEG topography changes over the scalp. The second difficulty is in providing enough successive EEG maps which may become successive frames for a specially made research movie.
