Abstract

Emergency situations due to gastrointestinal cancers challenge the surgeon’s skill as a technician as well as his or her knowledge of oncology. On the one hand complete surgical resection of the tumor is the only method for cure while on the other hand the poor general condition of the patient may prevent the required extensive surgical procedure.
