Abstract
If interstellar HI regions contain even a small fraction of ionized material, the neutral gas will be coupled to the field. What would be the observational consequences of such coupling? It is suggested that the data already exist to demonstrate that the field may be the arbiter of motions in so-called HI “clouds”. The possibility that the field may act to determine line broadening and constrain HI concentrations is considered.
