Zusammenfassung
Die Obstruktion der Atemwege bei Kindern und Jugendlichen mit Bronchialasthma, welches durch symptomfreie Perioden und akute Krisen gekennzeichnet ist, läßt sich durch signifikante Normabweichungen der Lungenfunktion objektivieren. Eine Atemwegsobstruktion ist z. B. durch relevante Befunde der Lungenfunktion auch in klinisch symptomfreien Intervallen bei Kindern oder Jugendlichen mit Asthma bronchiale nachweisbar. Diese Patienten bedürfen einer besonders sorgfältigen, spezialisierten medizinischen Versorgung, da die Langzeitprognose von der adäquaten Therapie in diesem Lebensabschnitt abhängt.
