Tumors of the Posterior Fossa

MR imaging has a major role in the examination of central nervous structures in the posterior fossa [3, 5, 13, 23, 25, 30, 40, 42, 49, 51, 52, 65], where bone artifact seriously limits the effectiveness of CT for soft tissue evaluation. CT remains the primary modality, however, for imaging the bony structures of the petrous pyramid and skull base [26, 66].
