Adenocarcinoma, Seminal Vesicle/Coagulating Gland, Rat

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: Monographs on Pathology of Laboratory Animals ((LABORATORY))

Abstract

Adenocarcinomas of the seminal vesicle and of the coagulating gland (nomenclature according to Jesik etal. 1982) are not usually large enough to be distinguished from one another grossly. Their site of origin may also be difficult to detect when they are located at the proximal part of the seminal vesicle close to the dorsolateral prostate, or when they are very large. The gross appearance of these tumors has not been described in the literature. They may be seen as rather firm, often multinodular, tumors.
