Abstract
A yolk sac carcinoma is a pearly white tumor, often with red or brown small foci which are less compact than surrounding firm tumoral tissue. The tumor infiltrates the organ in which it develops, depending upon the method of induction (Fig. 147). Multiple metastases are found mostly in the peritoneum, ovaries, and lymph nodes but also occasionally in lungs, liver, spleen, kidneys, and thymus. Nearly all animals develop the ascitic form of the yolk sac carcinoma.
