Zur Intimitätsentwicklung älterer Ehepaare aus der Perspektive der Lebensspanne

Zusammenfassung

Im Jahre 1977 dokumentierte Lehr (16) anläßlich des XI. Kongresses der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Gerontologie in Köln im Rahmen eines Übersichtsreferates über Trends in der gerontologischen Forschung die weitgehende Vernachlässigung qualitativer Aspekte der Sozialkontakte alter Menschen zugunsten der Untersuchung von Intelligenzveränderungen im Alter. Nieht zuletzt dank der Impulse, die von dem Arbeitskreis um Lehr und Thomae [vgl. z. B. (17)] in Bonn ausgingen, läßt sich mehr als eine Dekade später diese Feststellung nieht mehr aufrechterhalten. Dennoch bestehen selbst heute noch einige Lücken in der empirisch fundierten Forschung, z.B. Fragen nach der Intimitätsentwicklung alternder Menschen oder auch nach Aspekten der psychosexuellen Entwieklung im Alter, zu denen bislang - abgesehen von wenigen Ausnahmen [vgl. z. B. (22, 24, 29)] - weitgehend nur Untersuchungen aus dem angloamerikanischen Sprachraum vorliegen. Insofern hat die vorliegende Arbeit, die sich auf eine biographisch orientierte Erhebung an älteren Ehepaaren bezieht, durchaus „Pilotstudiencharakter“.
