Zusammenfassung
In den Jahren zwischen 1955 und 1969 ereigneten sich 20 Großfeuer durch Explosion von Benzin oder Flüssiggas, mit insgesamt 60 Toten und 100 Schwerverletzten; in den Jahren 1970–1984 waren bereits 30 Explosionen mit 900 Toten und 2200 Verletzten zu beklagen. Im Jahre 1984 explodierte bei Mexico City eine Gasabfüllstation mit grauenhaften Konsequenzen für die Bewohner der umliegenden Siedlungen.
