Zusammenfassung

Der Gestationsdiabetes ist eine Zuckerstoffwechselstörung, die in der Schwangerschaft beginnt und mit ihr endet. Nur in seltenen Fällen handelt es sich um die späte Erstmanifestation eines Typ-I-Diabetes oder um die frühe Erstmanifestation eines Typ-II-Diabetes durch die Belastung der Schwangerschaft. In diesen Fällen bleibt die Zuckerkrankheit auch nach der Schwangerschaft bestehen.
