Abstract
Die Zystinurie beim Menschen ist eine relativ seltene Stoffwechselerkrankung, die nach Literaturangaben eine Inzidenz von 0,3–1% (1,11) hat. Für eine effiziente Grundlagenforschung der Zystinurie bedeutet das, daß ausreichend große Patientenkollektive nur schwer oder gar nicht zu erhalten sind. Da die Zystinurie beim Hund dagegen wesentlich häufiger auftritt, 3,5–27% (3,4), bietet sich die Möglichkeit, diesen genetisch bedingten Stoffwechseldefekt tierexperimentell zu untersuchen und die Zystinurie des Hundes als Modell für die Erforschung dieser Krankheit des Menschen zu nutzen. Nachfolgend werden die Ergebnisse der Spontanurinanalysen von zystinurischen und gesunden Hunden vorgestellt.
