Zusammenfassung
Die Chromosomen (griech.: chromos = Farbe, soma = Leib) tragen ihren Namen wegen ihrer Fähigkeit, bestimmte Farben aufzunehmen. Sie sind in allen kerntragenden Zellen vorhanden und enthalten die DNS mit ihrer Erbinformation. Wie die DNS mit ihren sauren und basischen Proteinen im Chromosom angeordnet ist, ist bisher nicht endgültig geklärt.
