Zusammenfassung

Die portokavale Kurzschlußoperation (PCS) wird klinisch häufig praktiziert und z.B. als Therapieform bei Störungen des Cholesterinstoffwechsels empfohlen (5). In ihrer Folge kommt es zur verstärkten Ansammlung von Aminosäuren in Plasma und Gehirn (1), zu zerebralen Ausfallssymptomen, und bei Versuchstieren zu erheblichen Veränderungen des Mineralstoffwechsels (3). Rückwirkungen von PCS auf die Urinzusammensetzung und das Auftreten von Harnsteinen wurden nach unserem Wissen bisher wenig beachtet.
