Zusammenfassung

Myoglobin ist ein kleines sauerstoffbindendes Hämoprotein (Molekulargewicht 17200 Dalton), das in den quergestreiften Muskelzellen der Herz- und Skelettmuskulatur vorhanden ist und dort auch synthetisiert wird: Der größte Teil des Myoglobins wird in der Skelettmuskulatur gefunden, etwas weniger als ein Drittel ist in dem Herzmuskel vorhanden.
