Zusammenfassung

Die Sonographie stellt eine der wichtigsten Methoden zur Lokalisation und Identifizierung von intraabdominalen Flüssigkeitsansammlungen und Abszessen dar. Eine ideale Ergänzung der Sonographie ist die perkutane Punktion dieser Flüssigkeitsansammlungen, mit der neben klinischer Information Material für weitere Untersuchungen gewonnen werden kann (siehe Kapitel 4). Oft läßt sich die diagnostische Punktion unmittelbar in eine perkutane Drainage umwandeln, was sich besonders in der Therapie abdominaler Abszesse als bedeutende Alternative zur konventionellen Chirurgie erwiesen hat.
