Zusammenfassung
Noch in den 60er Jahren war man sich über die Existenz von α-Rezeptoren im Zentralnervensystem und deren Bedeutung für die Blutdruckregulation im unklaren. Dies änderte sich mit der Entdeckung von Clonidin als Blutdrucksenker. Es zeigte sich bald, daß Clonidin den Blutdruck durch einen anderen Mechanismus beeinflußt als die bis dahin bekannten Antihypertensiva.
