Zusammenfassung

Die Toxizität des Samens von Crotalaria spectabilis für eine Anzahl von Tierspezies ist schon lange bekannt (2,10). Neal und Mitarb. (8) konnten 1935 als wirksames Prinzip ein Alkaloid isolieren, das den Namen Monocrotalin erhielt und dessen Struktur 1939 von Adams und Rogers (1) aufgeklärt wurde. Es wurden Lebernekrosen beobachtet, die schon nach einmaliger Gabe des Alkaloids auftraten (9).
