Resonant Effects in Above Threshold Ionization

Abstract

We have examined resonances in the high energy (plateau) part of the ATI spectrum of argon attributed to rescattering. As the laser wavelength is changed, the peaks shift in energy by a multiple of the photon energy. We have also observed the characteristics of photons emitted from the focal region perpendicular to the laser propagation direction.
