Zusammenfassung
Die konsequente Durchführung einer medikamentösen und physikalischen Prophylaxe bei Patienten, die zeitweise einem erhöhten Thromboserisiko ausgesetzt sind, hat zu einer deutlichen Reduktion von thromboembolischen Komplikationen geführt. Dennoch ist die Bein- und Beckenvenenthrombose auch heute noch eine häufige und ernst zu nehmende Krankheit. Die Inzi- denz von Venenthrombosen wurde von Anderson et al. [1] für die USA mit 48/100000 Einwohner pro Jahr und die der Lungenembolien mit 23/100000 pro Jahr angegeben. In anderen Regionen liegen die Fallzahlen bedeutend höher. So berichteten Nordström et al. [10] über Venenthrombosen in der Stadt Malmö von 159/100000 Einwohner pro Jahr; die Daten ergaben sich aus einer prospektiven Studie mit phlebographischer Diagnostik.
