Abstract

In addition to describing the current state of knowledge, one of the objectives of the symposium on the subject “Plant oils as Fuels — Present State of Science and Future Developments” was to find an answer to the question as to how plant breeding measures might contribute to providing another market for alternative fuels on the basis of vegetable oils, i.e. help solving problems which currently prevent more comprehensive use of these fuels.
