3-D Analysis of a Complete, Highly Resolved Respiratory Unit
A special advantage of using computers is the ability to quantify image volumes. The classical method is stereology, based on the measurement of sections with special measurement grids. The application of this technique is, however, mostly limited to the measurement of randomly oriented and distributed structures.
