Zusammenfassung
Alle morphologischen Transformationen, die bisher behandelt worden sind, basierten auf Kombinationen von einem Eingangsbild mit geeigneten strukturierenden Elementen. Für geodätische Transformationen werden jedoch zwei Eingangsbilder betrachtet. Die Wahl eines strukturierenden Elements wird aber umgangen, da es das elementare isotropische strukturierende Element sein muß. Die entsprechende Dilatation oder Erosion wird auf das erste Bild angewendet. Das zweite Bild wird benutzt, um das Ergebnis zu begrenzen. In der Praxis werden geodätische Transformationen bis zur Stabilität wiederholt. Dies macht auch die Wahl der Anzahl der Iterationen überflüssig. Die Kombination geeigneter Paare von Eingangsbildern läßt neue morphologische Primitiven entstehen. Diese Primitiven bilden die Grundlage formaler Definitionen von wichtigen Bildstrukturen sowohl für Binär- als auch für Grauwertbilder.
