Zusammenfassung
Der Magen erhält und speichert Nahrung, mischt sie mit Magensaft und transportiert sie nach bestimmten gesetzmäßigen Kriterien ins Duodenum. Er läßt sich funktionell in zwei unterschiedliche Abschnitte einteilen. Die Reservoirfunktion und Entleerung flüssiger Nahrungsbestandteile erfüllt der orale Magenanteil, während Durchschmischung, Verkleinerung und Entleerung fester Nahrungspartikel in den kaudalen Abschnitten vonstatten gehen. Die Trennungslinie zwischen den einzelnen Funktionsabschnitten korrespondiert nicht mit den anatomischen Regionen. Die proximale Motorregion umfaßt den Fundus und das orale Drittel vom Magenkorpus, während die distale Motorregion von den verbliebenen Zweidrittel des Magenkorpus, dem Antrum und dem gastroduodenalen Übergang gebildet wird. Die Trennungslinie zwischen den funktionell unterschiedlichen Regionen beginnt an der großen Kurvatur, ungefähr ein Drittel der Distanz zwischen ösophagogastralem und gastroduodenalem Übergang, und verläuft quer, sowohl ventral als auch dorsal, entlang der Magenwand zur kleinen Kurvatur, ungefähr die halbe Distanz zwischen ösophagogastralem und gastroduodenalem Übergang (Abb. 2a.1).
