Die neurophysiologischen Mechanismen des Juckens sind immer noch weitgehend ungeklärt. Welche Typen von Nervenfasern vermitteln das Jucken? Sind die zentralnervösen Neuronen und Bahnen für die Vermittlung des Juckreizes identisch mit denen des Schmerzes?
