Zusammenfassung
Im Rahmen von multizentrischen Therapiestudien, die seit Ende der 70er und Anfang der 80er Jahre von der RTOG (Radiation Therapy Oncology Group) und der EORTC (European Organistion for Research and Treatment of Cancer) durchgeführt worden sind, wurden 2 Systeme zur Klassifikation von radioonkologischen Nebenwirkungen eingesetzt. Dabei war eine grundsätzliche Unterscheidung zwischen akuten / subakuten Nebenwirkungen (Akuttoxizität, 1.–90. Tag nach Beginn der Radiotherapie) und chronischen Nebenwirkungen (Spättoxizität, ab dem 91. Tag nach Beginn der Radiotherapie) bzw. chronischen Langzeitfolgen der Therapie vorgesehen (Perez & Brady, 1993 a/b).
