Zusammenfassung
Die Speiseröhre ist ein etwa 25 cm langes tubuläres Organ, das dem unidirektionalen Transport von verschluckten Speisen und Flüssigkeit in den Magen dient. Am proximalen und distalen Ende ist sie von sog. digestiven Sphinkteren, dem oberen (OÖS) und demnteren (UÖS) Ösophagussphinkter begrenzt. Die Muskulatur besteht am Speiseröhreneingang und in den proximalen 10 cm aus quergestreiftenuskelfasern. Jenseits einer Übergangszone von 2–7 cm Breite findet sich in der kaudalen Hälfte des Organs ausschließlich glatteuskulatur. Die Muskelfasern überkreuzen einander schraubenförmig in schräger Richtung. Sie verlaufen außen steiler als innen [17].
