Unter Schmerz verstehen wir eine am Körper lokalisierbare, grundsätzlich unangenehme Sinnesempfindung mit starker affektiver omponente. Schmerz wird durch Erregung spezifischer neuraler Rezeptoren hervorgerufen. Er führt typischerweise zu Fluchtreaktionen.
