Abstract
The general principles of therapeutic endovascular embolization described in Vol. 2, Chap. 1 apply for the brain, the spine, and the spinal cord and its dural covers. Patient preparation, preoperative medications, anesthesia, puncture site, and the use of introducer sheaths are similar. Specific aspects of angiography and embolization in the brain, spine, and spinal cord, as they apply to the various pathologies or to particular situations, will be discussed.
