Measurement of Current Fluctuations in a 1 kW Gas Transport Laser
A computer-controlled system has been developed to sample the current distribution and the current fluctuations of a transverse-flow gas-transport laser. With the aid of opto-coupler a current proportional voltage is generated and fed into a memory. It is shown that the current fluctuations depend mainly on the voltage ripple of the power supply, the turbulent gas flow and electrode sputtering.
