Gastric Secretion

  • Chapter
Gastritis

Abstract

The most frequent and simple evaluation is represented by the parameter of HCl secretion which expresses the activity of the gastric parenchyma and, more precisely, of the parietal cells present in the fundic mucosa. However, the question arises as to how precisely the gastric secretory activity expresses the fundic glandular status, or what is the reliability of the secretory picture in the course of chronic gastritis.
