Abstract

There has recently been a greatly increased interest among neurobiologists in the roles of cell surface and extracellular matrix glycoproteins and proteoglycans in cell-cell interactions and other developmental processes. Our own efforts in this area have largely been directed towards studying their structure, localization, and metabolism in nervous tissue, since this information is essential for ultimately understanding their functional roles.
