Zusammenfassung

Verletzungen des zervikookzipitalen Überganges umfassen im engeren Sinne Frakturen des Condylus occipitalis, atlantookzipitale Verrenkungen und Brüche des Atlas, die mit einer Gelenkinkongruenz zum Hinterhauptbein einhergehen. Auf letztere wird im folgenden nicht weiter eingegangen, nachdem Atlasfrakturen einen Problemkreis für sich darstellen. Verletzungen der Atlantookzipitalregion, insbesondere Luxationen, sind meist tödlich und kommen damit nur selten zur klinischen Diagnostik und Beobachtung.
