Abstract

IR multiple photon excitation (MPE) and dissociation (MPD) in molecules have become a field of major significance over the past years after the early discovery of ISENOR et al. /1/ of a fast dissociation process occurring in SiF4 irradiated with an intense CO2 laser source. The dynamics of MPE and MPD have been widely studied both theoretically and experimentally in view of the possibilities offered to selective chemistry /2/ and technical applications.
