Zusammenfassung

Druckschäden des N. radialis machten 5, 3% der 1574 nichttraumatischen mechanischen Läsionen peripherer Nerven aus, die Mumenthaler 1974 zusammenstellte. Der Nerv kann selten in der Axilla, häufiger aber am Oberarm, am proximalen Unterarm oder auch im Handgelenksbereich komprimiert sein. Zwar war bei Mumenthalers Patienten (1974) der N. radialis am Oberarm wesentlich öfter betroffen als im sog. Supinatorkanal. Läßt man aber die exogenen Ursachen durch Druck von außen — z. B. durch die Lehne einer Bank — außer Betracht, so dürfte der häufigste Ort der Radialisschädigung die Ellenbogenregion bzw. der proximale Unterarm sein. Hier wiederum steht die Passage des Nervs zwischen den beiden Köpfen des M. supinator im sog. Supinatorkanal oder der Supinator- loge im Vordergrund. An dieser Stelle ist der tiefe Radialisast betroffen, der im englischsprachigen Schrifttum als N. interosseus posterior bezeichnet wird, obwohl die synonyme Verwendung dieser beiden Begriffe anatomisch gesehen nicht korrekt ist. Doch bürgert sich diese Bezeichnung auch im kontinentalen Schrifttum immer mehr ein. Agnew beschrieb 1863 als erster die klinische Symptomatik und erfolgreiche operative Therapie eines Interosseus-posterior-Syndroms.
