Abstract

The breeding value of a genotype is the sum of the values of the genes in that genotype. Patently, the breeding value will not always be equal to the genotypic value; there may be a difference between Gii* and Aii* for genotype AiAi*. We shall explore the nature of this difference, Dii*.
