Studies of Heavy-Ion Produced Proton-Rich and Neutron-Rich Nuclei

Recent studies of medium-mass nuclei far-off the β-stability line are surveyed that were performed at the GSI on-line mass separator. Measurements of half-lives of new neutron-rich nuclei and of the strength of Gamow-Teller β-decays of proton-rich nuclei are presented in some detail and compared to related experiments at other facilities.
